Center for American Places
The Center's educational mission is to enhance the public's understanding of, and appreciation for, the natural and built environment. It is guided by the view that books provide, perhaps better than any other medium, the intellectual and affective foundation for comprehending the places where we live, work, and visit.

EnviroArts
A collaboration between The EnviroLink Network and The Orion Society. This site is home to the best of the environmental arts, featuring essays, poetry, interviews, and portfolios. 

Environmental Writing Institute
An annual institute sponsored by the Teller Wildlife Refuge, Inc., and the University of Montana Environmental Studies Program. 

National Outdoor Book Awards
A site and an award dedicated to honoring the best in outdoor writing and publishing. 

Nature in Legend and Story
An organization devoted to exploration of relationships between human beings and the natural world, reflected in folklore, literature, and other cultural activities. 

Orion Online
Web site of The Orion Society, an award-winning publisher, an environmental education organization, and a communications and support network for grassroots environmental and community organizations across North America. Includes links to Orion Magazine and Orion Afield. 

Orlo
An organization dedicated to exploring environmental issues though the creative arts. Site contains information about Orlo events and productions. 

Western Literature Association
A lively and unconventional group of scholars dedicated to indisciplinary studies of Western American literature. This site contains information about a yearly conference and the Association's print journal, Western American Literature. 

Watermark Literary Society
Formed in 2003 to celebrate the literature of nature and place, particularly in Australian and New Zealand. 

The World as Home
This website, sponsored and maintained by nonprofit literary press Milkweed Editions, fosters ecological literacy and renewal by linking literary writing about the natural world to specific ecoregions and to organizations active in preserving natural landscapes or focused on the art of writing.

Configurations

High Country News
A non-profit, every-other-week Western newspaper dedicated to creating what Wallace Stegner called "a society to match the scenery." 

Isotope

Manoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing
A semiannual print journal dedicated to enhancing knowledge of Asia's and the Pacific's diverse arts, literatures, and peoples. Site contains sample content, submission guidelines, and subscription information. 

OnEarth Poetry Podcasts
OnEarth, an environmental magazine published by the Natural Resources Defense Council, publishes poetry that engages with the natural world; since January 2008 OnEarth has been producing a library of conversations with poets across the country.

Open Spaces
A quarterly print magazine based in America's Northwest presenting fiction and nonfiction relevant to people from all regions. Site contains sample content, submission guidelines, and subscription information. 

Romantic Circles Ecocriticism Blog
