Submissions Open for 2019 ASLE Book Awards

Submissions for 2019 ASLE book awards in the areas of ecocriticism and environmental creative writing are now being accepted.  The call for graduate student paper submissions to be presented at the conference will follow this winter.

First given at 2007 Biennial Conference held at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the ASLE book and paper awards recognize excellence in the field. Kim Stanley Robinson Panel at ASLE 2019

I’m putting together a panel proposal for the 2019 ASLE Conference at UC Davis, which is also the city where Kim Stanley Robinson lives.  It’s an excellent time and place to engage with his astounding work.

The panel style is open–from the traditional 4 papers to the 8 person jam session–and depends on the volume of interest.

If you’re interested, please email me by August 15th so I’ve got time to communicate and coordinate before the panel proposals are due to ASLE on September 1st.

International Conference on Ecocriticism and Environmental Studies

Ecocriticism plays a significant role in shaping environmental consciousness. Representations of nature’s agency become central to many studies conducted in literature, culture studies, philosophy, history, sociology or political science. This conference aims to explore the relationship between the physical environment and text in its broader meaning as well as analyse the social concerns raised by environmental crisis.

Conference panels will be related, but not limited, to:
