Breaking the climate silence: a new platform for creative youth leadership
The Climate Museum presents Climate Speaks, a citywide youth spoken word training program and competition.
Get involved—inspire progress on the greatest challenge of our time.
Climate Speaks is open to all high school students living in the New York City metropolitan area.
Students will engage with climate issues through spoken word at workshops in March and April. They will then submit original poems to be selected for the semifinal round. Semifinalists will receive performance training and mentoring before performing their pieces at live auditions. Sixteen poets will take the stage of the Apollo Theater on June 14th for a final performance.
Program dates and locations available on website.
Presented in partnership with the NYC Department of Education Office of Sustainability and with special thanks to Urban Word NYC.
