Humans – Artis Natura, vol. 2, n° 1 – Winter 2018
The editorial committee at Artis Natura is searching for emerging artists and researchers to contribute to a thematic issue on its cultural online platform. This project has taken the form of a blog reviewed and published by an editorial committee, where researchers, artists, and writers can share reflections on the reciprocal relationship between humans and nature.
This third issue will focus on humans. The questioning of anthropocentrism, stimulated by the realities of the current environmental crisis, has raised concerns about the space that humanity occupies in the natural world.
We propose the following non-exhaustive list of potential topics for reflection:
Humans, space and movement : nomadic or sedentary peoples, migration, means of transportation, urban centers vs. unpopulated spaces…
Humans in time : human history, eras of war and peace, civilizations…
The human species : the body, evolution, genealogy, life expectancy, ethnicity…
Anthropocentrism : human perception of the natural world, lifestyles, emotions, individual and/or collective perspectives…
This project is bilingual, French and English, and contributors in either or both languages are accepted. Submissions are published as they are submitted. All contributions must be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org between February 1st and May 31st 2018. Please also include a short biography and profile picture along with the submission. Submissions must adhere to Artis Natura’s submission protocol. All accepted contributions for this issue will be compiled into a printed edition.
