The Community of Food, Society, & Justice Conference, October 18, 2019
The ways that we meet the nutritional needs of our communities, while also protecting the planet, promoting healthy lives, and ensuring food justice are among the greatest challenges facing our Nation and the world in the 21st century. Centuries of unsustainable agricultural practices and inequitable food distribution place our food systems in peril. How to address these challenges and feed a hungry population raise transformative issues for our communities and academics committed to sustainability and food justice throughout the world.
The poster session at the Community of Food, Society & Justice Conference will highlight the multidisciplinary nature of sustainability and food justice, and foster a thriving community from a diverse set of contributors.
We invite graduate and undergraduate students to submit high-quality abstracts for posters. Posters may present research or work in progress and poster abstracts may include the following formats of work: empirical study, designs, discussions, pictorials, and art. Posters present a valuable opportunity to attract interest and give a rapid overview of your research. At the conference, the work described in the extended abstract will be presented as a poster, ideally in interactive discussion. We especially encourage posters that engage with the social, cultural, or political aspects of sustainability and food justice, though all abstract topics are welcome.
