In May 2020, ASLE started a new “Scholar of the Month” feature at our website, which was modeled after the Society of Early Americanists’ program of the same name. The purpose is to highlight our members’ innovative research, teaching, community engagement, and other activities. Read about our past nominees and the questions we ask them in our Scholar of the Month feature on the website. We also post these profiles to ASLE Facebook and Twitter.
Now that the program has successfully launched, we would like to introduce an additional open nomination process for members. Here are the guidelines and submission instructions:
- Self-nominations are not accepted
- Nominees, and their nominators, must be active members of ASLE (or an international affiliate, see ASLE Around the World)
- Nominees who are grad students, early career scholars, and scholars in precarious positions will be prioritized, but all members are eligible to be nominated
- To nominate your favorite ASLE scholar, please send a nomination letter of not more than 300 words to Christy Tidwell, ASLE Digital Strategies Coordinator, at [email protected]
If your nominee is accepted, they will be contacted to ask if they would like to accept the honor and complete an e-mail interview.
