ASLE Translation Grants support work in ecocriticism from international scholars translating books or other substantial projects (such as longer articles) into English. Proposed works should be ecocriticism or fiction/non-fiction with a clear relationship to environmental issues, and must already have been published in a language other than English. We encourage authors to seek English-language publishers, particularly in the U.S., Canada, or Great Britain. Funding for accepted works to be translated will be up to a possible maximum of $1,000 each. We award up to three translation grants each year.
*Because we only received one proposal from our 2017 call, ASLE will accept proposals for the remaining two grants of $1,000 each into 2018 on a rolling basis. Submission instructions are below.
