ASLE opposes the illegal and immoral invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Ukraine is a sovereign state with a distinct history, language, and culture. Russia has no right to colonize Ukraine. We stand against imperial wars and the social and environmental destruction that they wreak. We call on our academic colleagues to condemn this war and the fossil fuel infrastructure that supports it. We support the people of Ukraine in their resistance and look forward to the day when Ukrainians live again in peace.
