The 31st Ecocriticism Studies Conference of the Society for Ecocriticism Studies in Japan (SES-J), an ASLE Professional Affiliate, was held August 11 2018. The conference took place at Ehime University in Matsuyama, Japan.  Shoko Itoh, ASLE Honorary Member and President of SES-J, gave the opening remarks for the day of presentations, workshops and meetings.
